What's an OVA? The acronym is for "Original Video Animation" (it's also said OAV); it means anime that is released directly to video rather than being broadcast on TV.

The original Hellsing series was designed for TV (thus the half-hour length and built-in commercial breaks). The OVA is very different.

Episodes are fifty minutes long. The animation quality is higher. And it's not related to the TV series; it's not a continuation. Instead of a Series 2, it's a whole new project.

Check the media & scans page for downloads.

Episodes 1-7 are now out; watch the official website (in Japanese) for upcoming releases.
