[53] What Could Have Been!

Morgan [Home Page] 2003/11/10
Somehow I don't think this situation ever happened as long as young Integra retained her sanity with the realization of having a pet...vampire. But my goodness the prospect sure is funny.

The book he is reading her is a childhood favorite of mine: The Fire Bug Connection. Goodness knows it is stupid looking back at it now, but to a third grader's eye's way-back-when, it was a gift from God. Of course Integra would have to be at least 13 in this picture, but like I said, the thought of it is rather entertaining. :)

Flaws! : Integra is much to hyper and/or happy in this picture. But hey, I would be giddy too if I was wearing Alucard's hat.
2) It is also junk (aka a Morgan quickie), but nevertheless cute, thus why I'm posting it.

I would so latch onto Alucard if I were in Integra's shoes.

I AM PRINTING THIS. :-D

Re:What Could Have Been!

Pigtails the Shoulder Angel 2003/11/15
Waaaaait. Is Integra even wearing shoes? Then if you were in her shoes, how could you even be in her shoes if she's not wearing shoes!.....

Did that make ANY sense?

AMERICAN CHEESE!

Ouch. Morbid child.

Wouldn't you rather latch onto the actual Alucard, though?

Re:Alucard!!
Morgan [Home Page] 2003/11/16
The actual Alucard would refuse to wear heart-print boxers. ^.^

Re:Alucard!!
Maddie 2003/11/16
Ah, but you see, this is not Alucard. This is his Shoulder Devil...I forgot to make that clear ^^'

And as you said, heart boxers are the ultimate evil shoulder devil wear.

Re:Alucard!!

I know it's his shoulder devil . . . which is why I love it even more . . . *cackles*

Re:Alucard Loves The Little Part Of U

Notice this Oekaki is split up into little groups of "people who know each other"? We should MINGLE, people! Mingle!

It's almost as if each group feels the other has no right to be posting here. -_-;

Very, very, very pretty picture, Ellen-sama.

Mingley mingley mingley!

How do the people draw dudes people! HOW?

I tried to draw a picture of Alucard off hellsing.nu and my mum said it was terrible.

I drew Seras and Integral and my mum said it was very good.

I'd mingle, but right now we're just mingling with our pre-determined groups, ruining the point of the mingling excersize.

Gorgey pic.

Re:Alucard Loves The Little Part Of U
Ellensama [Home Page] 2003/11/18
Thanky all *mingle mingle* I actually did this with a mouse right in photoshop. I added some effects in painter and finished the touch up's in photoshop. I was very happy on how the colors came out. =3 Also a tip about drawing, when you can draw it big and shrink it down later, it makes it look better. When people draw manga in japan they draw it larger than neede than it's srunk down and looks great. =3 More tips to come later maybe?

[62] May I have your attention, please?

Morgan [Home Page] 2003/11/17
*waves hands in the air* Queeeeeeestion!

Ignore the junky pic, question now~! I heard Alucard can "levitate", which I presume is plausible, but I haven't seen enough of the manga to verify this. So, for the newbie such as me, could someone tell me if that's true? I'm working on a layout pic for my *cough*, if youwanttocallitasite, and of course, my first theme is Hellsing.

...^^; And for the sake of artist's block and lack of posing ideas, it would be very helpful if I knew that.

So yeah. Disregard the quicky. At least it serves a purpose.

Uh...er..would this be considered spam/annoying?

Re:May I have your attention, please?

The picture is cute, and I have no idea.

I dunno about the manga, but he levitates plenty in Order 13 of the anime.

Re:May I have your attention, plea
Erin the Integra Fangirl [Home Page] 2003/11/18
Yeah, he can levitate. No, this isn't spam. This is a spiffy picture, though I'm not sure I get it either ^_^;

Re:May I have your attention, please?
Morgan [Home Page] 2003/11/18
Thank you for the answers.

Would you believe I really don't get my own picture? Oh well...I'll try to explain.

This was drawn, one rainy, contemplative day as I read through your old Shine archives, and noticed that Alucard toyed with her reflection in the dressing room.

I guess this could be Alucard teasing her reflection again. Is the real Integra tired? Annoyed? Restless? Don't know really.

Thank you again. :D

That's what I thought. About the picture, that is.

[70] Portrait of a Shoujo

I really hate this. It's . . . bad. Don't even C&C, because this is just so bad I don't want to think about it.

Re:Portrait of a Shoujo
Morgan 2003/11/26
*cringetwitchspasm*
It doesn't even look like her. :'( *sniff*

The picture is not bad in quality (not at all) but it's just...dementedly scary. But I know you already knew that.

Huuuur, mallet! I shall make note to steal that.

Re:Portrait of a Shoujo
Erin the Integra Fangirl [Home Page] 2003/11/26
Give her glasses. That will help. And darken her skin a bit.

The lineart's messy but the proportions are good and the shading's great.

...and this is truly scary.

Re:Portrait of a Shoujo
Elizabeth 2003/11/27
I don't hate it because it doesn't look like Integra, I hate it because it's *bad*.

Re:Portrait of a Shoujo

Rest assure, this is not bad in quality. I would never be able to oekaki something like this, or anything else you draw. *covet*

Morgan, you're way better than me. Way. Damn, I'll never be as good as you at drawing.

Thanks for the comment, but geez. o_0;;;

Ok, a) beauty is in the eye of the blahblahblah and I say your drawing skills are that of a master artist and b) I'm at the period in life where I think everything I draw is crap. And my word is law. The End.

Re:For Hellsing Manga Volume 6
Erin the Integra Fangirl [Home Page] 2003/11/30
Integra . . . baking. Pig . . . flying. Satan . . . skating. Does anyone else see a pattern there?

...which only makes this all the more amusing. Not to mention gorgeously drawn. You can draw hands. I will envy you your hand-drawing skills for all eternity. As well as whatever scanner you used for this, because whenever I shade things in pencil and scan them, the scanner dumps some hideously blotchy thing onto my disk...

Re:For Hellsing Manga Volume 6
Kit [Home Page] 2003/11/30
Can I offer you a picture of Integra with hellhound puppies then? Posted it on the other o-board but thought will put it here for everyone's amusement (see above).

PS: I'm using a mac which makes art stuff easier (altho my machine is much slower than a more modern apple or something decent on windows) unless you really know how to operate your windows.

I love this picture too, and not just because it's Seras! Believe it or not, I actually drew a picture very much like this one a few weeks ago. Strange.. LOL Anyway, I think you did a wonderful job, and your shading far exceeds any I could ever do, and the eyes are spiffy too!

[77] Seras with Alucard's head

Rachel K. 2003/12/1
Hi everyone. :)

I was bored and felt like randomly drawing this moment from "The Duel".

I'm not entirely pleased with the way Seras's face turned out, but I hope you can at least read the text.

Re:Seras with Alucard's head
Elizabeth 2003/12/2
XD Before this picture loaded, and I saw the title, I was thinking that it was going to be Alucard's head on Seras' body . . . scary . . . .

Re:Seras with Alucard's head
Erin the Integra Fangirl [Home Page] 2003/12/2
Heheh. That was a very good Seras line.

Okay, her face is a little odd (the eyes are sort of off and the nose looks flat), but I wouldn't've noticed if you hadn't pointed it out. And all the shading is great; the knife and clothes especially are amazing ^__^

[80] Not sure-Seras?(testing)

Ghost of Pettigrew [Home Page] 2003/12/6
Hey, Erin. Thought I'd drop by, leave a token of gratitude for the times we shared, the times we kinda got on each others' nerves, and--above all--for teaching me the pleasure of watching another person draw.

This goes out to you. I know it's not Integra, but I would feel sacrilegious if I attempted her and failed to capture what makes her Integra.

Therefore, Seras.

Re:Not sure-Seras?(testing)
Maddie 2003/12/7
Mmm. Gorgey. Love the coloring.

Re:Not sure-Seras?(testing)
Erin the Integra Fangirl [Home Page] 2003/12/7
Like, wow.

That's gorgeous. I adore your style. And your jacket-shading skill. And your coloring skills in general. And I love the monochromaticness.

Thank you ^___^

Try Integra some time! Even if you don't capture her Integra-ness with the first drawing, you will at some point =}

Re:Not sure-Seras?(testing)
Elizabeth 2003/12/7
:-O

. . . oh. My. God.

o___o;;

*steals your talent and eats it* Ehehehe . . . .

Re:Not sure-Seras?(testing)
Morgan [Home Page] 2003/12/7
Oooh, I love how you played with the angles of her face. ^____^ The shadowing really brings it out.

Re:Not sure-Seras?(testing)
Ghost of Pettigrew [Home Page] 2003/12/8
Thank you for your comments, everyone.

Even if I feel most of it was just messing around in Photoshop Elements and not really any illustration of talent, thank you for the compliments.

Especially on the coloring, because that I actually was stressed over. Bad coloring=ineffective mood.

. . . Angles in her face? Wha? If I knew what I was doing, that'd be great praise I'm sure, but . . . I just thought it would be nifty to shade the upper half of her face to make the one red eye stand out. Which, unfortunately, it doesn't, not as much as I'd like it to.

However, beyond that, I'm glad it makes people squee in delight. Mission accomplished ^_^

[81] Merry Christmas from Integra!

Pigtails the Seras Fangirl 2003/12/6
As title says. Now I shall place some well placed lyrics.

Jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the day
I just can't wait till
Christmas time
When I can in the
hay

Deleted two words. Ah well. It's AC/DC. SPREAD THE JOY!

Re:Merry Christmas from Integra!
Erin the Integra Fangirl [Home Page] 2003/12/7
Eheh. There are Christmas songs out there that you don't have to delete the words to, you know o_O

Anyhow . . . This is great. Her arms are still oddly bent, and your lineart is still sketchy, but your coloring and proportions are getting much better. And I LOVE the background. Now, wouldn't it be nice if Integra would actually wear outfits like that? >^-^<

Re:Merry Christmas from Integra!
Ghost of Pettigrew [Home Page] 2003/12/7
I believe, if I may interject, that if Integra ever ended up dressed like that, she would KILL the person who suggested she wear it.

Re:Merry Christmas from Integra!
Elizabeth 2003/12/7
Lol, adorable.

[83] Seras - Finished

Elizabeth 2003/12/7
I really hate the background, and the colouring, and the lineart is messy and the proportions are off. And her nose is so pointy and her eyebrows are black . . . and what the hell kind of a dress is that, anyway?

Re:Seras - Finished
Pigtails the Seras Fangirl 2003/12/7
Tis better than my Seras drawing. WHICH I CANNOT UPLOAD!

What's wrong with Black Eyebrows?

Re:Seras - Finished
Elizabeth 2003/12/7
Oh, they just look bad.

Re:Seras - Finished
Lucy the Seras Fangirl [Home Page] 2003/12/7
What the heck are you talking about?!! This is great! Just the fact that you can COLOR it is awesome! Personally, I think this picture rocks, so don't be so down on yourself! Nobody's perfected, but I still think you did a good job. So there.

Re:Seras - Finished
Erin the Integra Fangirl [Home Page] 2003/12/7
And I can honestly tell you that I never would've noticed anything wrong with this if you hadn't tried to point things out. I still don't see anything really bad about it. So her eyerows are too thin to have color; so what? The dress looks good and the rest of it is superb.

Re:Seras - Finished
Kipouiket [Home Page] 2003/12/7
You know, there is no need to tell your art suck so people tell you it doesn't... it seems to be a habit of yours :) anyway, this is fine, just like the rest of your pictures !

Re:Seras - Finished
Elizabeth 2003/12/8
But I'm not doing that. If you think I am, then don't fricking comment. I don't *care*. It annoys me when people say my pictures are good. I'm never going to learn anything if people are just like, "Oh, that's really nice" and "such and such is sooo cute" or whatever. I know a lot of faults with my art but there's some stuff I miss, too.

And you have to admit that the background is terrible. You *have* to.

Re:Seras - Finished
Soliloquy [Home Page] 2003/12/8
Ok! Since I *HAVE* to, the background is bad. But don't be so damn hard on yourself. All of you draw way better than I ever could. If all you ever focus on are your mistakes, then you'll never see the beauty in your work. You should be able to look at you mistakes and say, "Well, that wasn't my best shot, but now I know what to work on in the future. I did however ____________ (Fill in the blank appropriatly)." Don't give your art a tounge lashing just because it isn't *PERFECT*. If I had even half the talent you do, I would have pictures up here. But do I? No! Which means I am way worse at any type of visual art than you. You have to be able to see good in your art, as well as the bad. What would have happened if Kouta Hirano and Gonzo Animation had decided not to publish (Is that right for a show? I know it's right for the manga but...) Hellsing just cause there was something wrong with one of the character drawings?

Re:Seras - Finished
Erin the Integra Fangirl [Home Page] 2003/12/8
Everything Soliloquy said is dead on.  (No pun intended.)

Re:Seras - Finished

Its FINE! Don't be so hard on yourself! Quite personally, I am ver fond of the shading on the dress.

Re:Seras - Finished

I really like the shading and the mirror effect.

[85] Seras Dancing

Elizabeth 2003/12/8
This is for Pigtails.

In case you can't read my handwriting, the text beside her says, "Seras - 'Cause she'll dance if she wants to, and she'll leave this world behind." Anyone who knows what song that's paraphrasing, the *real* title, and who sang it, gets a big hug. And the joy of knowing that they're smart.

(A note on the pose: Her pose falls under the category of "Painful but possible." I attempted it in front of my bedroom mirror to get a better look at the angle of her foot, and I was able to hold it for about half a second. So if I can do it for that long, a ballet dancer who's in way better shape than me should be able to do it long enough to conceivably have a picture taken.)

Re:Seras Dancing
Soliloquy [Home Page] 2003/12/8
Breath-taking! *Faints*

Re:Seras Dancing
Pigtails the Seras/Angus Fangirl 2003/12/8

Re:Seras Dancing

Oh and, yes-she-does-have-eyebrows-they're-just-too-light-to-see.

Re:Seras Dancing
Erin the Integra Fangirl [Home Page] 2003/12/8
I can see the eyebrows.

The right leg looks a bit long, but other than that, this is stunning. Beautiful pose. I like the way you adapted lyrics from Safety Dance, by Men Without Hats, to go alongside it; they fit well =D

Re:Seras Dancing
Elizabeth 2003/12/8
Are you sure it's not the left leg that's too short? o.O; Thanks, though. Oh, and you get a hug now. *huuuug*

Re:Seras Dancing
Kipouiket [Home Page] 2003/12/8
Well, let's be constructive !
I think the upper part of her legs (don't know the english word) is a bit too long. But the shading is good.

Re:Seras Dancing
Elizabeth 2003/12/8
Thighs. And thank you.

Re:Seras Dancing
Ghost of Pettigrew [Home Page] 2003/12/8
Why is it that women can draw like this with no concerns for whether the large breasts will be perceived as gratuitous? Or is that only me being more anal than necessary about the realistic sizes of my female characters?

Either way, drawing Seras from the neck down gives me headaches. But this is a really good image of Seras, and it one I think especially captures the light atmosphere surrounding the character well.

Safety Dance, IIRC, but the band escapes me.

Re:Seras Dancing
Elizabeth 2003/12/9
Well, actually, I do have a concern for it. When I'm drawing my own characters, I at least try not to make them as well-endowed as Seras. But honestly, have you ever taken a look at the girl? To draw her with an average-sized chest would be the same as drawing Ed from Cowboy Bebop with an average-sized chest . . . JUST NOT RIGHT.

[93] Shrodinger

Ghost of Pettigrew [Home Page] 2003/12/21
Taken directly from a panel of Hellsing: Blood Knight--an excellent take on what might happen if Integra let Alucard turn her.

I thought Shrodinger's pose too interesting to resist. It's smaller than I was thinking as I drew it, but I like it.

The detail involved took forever.

Re:Shrodinger
Ghost of Pettigrew [Home Page] 2003/12/21
And to clarify, it's 9:30 PM EST now. I first set down preliminary guidelines around 9:00 this morning.

And it STILL sucks. I shouldn't need to explain why.

Re:Shrodinger
Erin the Integra Fangirl [Home Page] 2003/12/21
Kawaii. And it's definitely Shrodinger - as in, the physicist who came up with the uncertainty principle, although he was famous for an experiment with a cat, not a wolf. Shrodinger mentions at some point that he is "everywhere and nowhere," recalling that principle, which more or less says you can't know where anything is...

...okay, stopping the long-drawn-out explanation right here. The detail on this came out wonderfully. Isn't Blood Knight fantastic, though? ^_^

Re:Shrodinger
Ghost of Pettigrew [Home Page] 2003/12/21
Blood Knight is indeed fantastic.

As I have no real comparison to the manga as far as dialogue for Millenium--or some of the mannerisms of the minor cast members--the dialogue sometimes seems forced, but the story makes up for it with pretty pictures and a very, VERY intriguing plot.

Ah, yes, that makes sense. Now I wish to kick Rip for confusing me by calling him Schuldinger.

Yay! Erin likes my picture!

There was something about Shrodinger (the physicist) in my Hyperspace book, but I was kind of confused about it. His experiment involved putting a cat in a box, then having a piece of uranium hooked up to a geiger counter hooked up to a gun pointed at the cat. The uranium decays, the counter picks it up, and the gun fires. But something about how opening up the box and observing the cat is what makes it dead...whatever.
Awesome picture. His hair is so shiny! *wants your shading skillz*

I don't know about the Hellsing catboy but the physicist's name was Erwin Schringer/Schroedinger and his experiment with the cat had something to do with quantum mechanics. He had this theory that the piece of uranium is in an so called superposition/state of transition (don't know how to translate it) meaning it is somewhere between not-yet-decayed/decayed. And as long as the cat is in the same closed box/room it is in a superposition (not-yet-dead/dead), too. If the geiger counter realizes that the uranium is decayed the room will fill with gas and the cat dies.
The experiment should prove that quantum physics is also applicable to macroscopic systems. (whooaa that would've been a lot easier to explain in german ^^;;)
I like this pic of Schrodinger, he seems more grown up than in the manga. And I love his smile ^^ His hairstyle reminds me of someone but I don't know who ;_;

[99] Laissez les bons temps rouler

Whee! Now that Christmas is over, everyone down here (aka southern USA Louisiana) looks forward to January 6th, when the Mardi Gras season opens! *excitement* I can't wait until I get to go and pick out my mask, so I had to soothe some of that with this little doodad.

She's being extremely uncharacteristic, I love it nevertheless. The funky hat she's wearing was my headress from last year, except it had twice as many feathers and streamers. The plate and braided bread in her arms is King Cake, courtesy my bad drawing skills. That's basically it! I did have to cut off some funky text art to save some room, but all it was were bubble letters that said "Laissez les bons temps rouler", a common saying during festivals here which is a French/Cajun slang for "Let the good times roll".

*wiggles* n-n

I guess I should also point out the "Noona" in her feather. That's my pen name on the neondragonart.com oekaki boards, where this was originally done.

Spiffy! Mardi Gras! It must be awesome to live in southern Louisiana during Mardi Gras season. *wants to go down there*

Spiffy hair.

It looks like the Seras fad is over. Now the trend is drawing out-of-character Integra!

I actually live in northern Louisiana, but the common misconception is that once you get closer to Arkansas, there are no more Cajuns and the parishes are more Americanized. But they're not. We still have fais-do-dos and dozens of krewes just as much as Bourbon St. on Mardi Gras or Lundi Gras. Since this has only evolved over the last three decades or so, some fail to realize that.

And that is my mini-rant of the moment.

But yes, I love her hair too. ^^ Probably my favorite part in the whole piece.
