This is the page where I talk about myself.
I am a single white female, a civil libertarian, a registered Green, a bibliophile, a packrat, a Universalist Unitarian, a rising college student, a devout Pastafarian, an Integra fangirl, a writer, an artist, a dōjinshi-ka, an introvert, a geek, gay, overworked, underpaid, myopic, a Sailor Moon fan, a lover of crossovers, and a generally nice person, not necessarily in that order.
I swear by cheap sketchbooks and 99-cent notebooks. I read a lot of comics. I have The Complete Calvin and Hobbes. I have over 150 volumes of manga; six are in French; one is in Japanese. (I can read the former, but not the latter.)
I love feta cheese, almonds, fresh blueberries, korma, and Mountain Dew. I firmly believe, as did my great-great-aunt, that fashion is spinach.
My dad is a computer science professor. My mom is working on her doctorate in theology. My brother, three years younger than me, is a Lego enthusiast and a card gamer.
I believe in the Flying Spaghetti Monster. I believe in sprawling multifandom crossovers. I believe everyone has the potential to be good. I believe you need to be able to laugh at yourself.
In two words, I am a humanist humorist.
In the real world I'm a fan of Jon Stewart, Octavia E. Butler, Neil Gaiman, Orson Scott Card, Scott McCloud, Julia Sweeney, Philip K. Dick, Kurt Vonnegut, Stephen Colbert, Ellen DeGeneres, Joseph Campbell, George Herriman, and Maya Keyes - again, not necessarily in that order, although Jon, Octavia, and Neil belong near the top.
In fiction I am a fan of far too many things to list right now; Sailor Moon, Hellsing, the Oz books, the Daily Show and Colbert Report, Good Omens and the Sandman series, Victorian Romance Emma, and Red Dwarf have all inspired me to go out and do something about it.
I ship AxI, read science fiction, fix typos on Wikipedia, and listen to classic rock.
I use the alias Sailor Ptah for everything, and if you see a Sailor Ptah somewhere, it's me. I go to Balticon as myself and Otakon as Integral. I'm going to Wheaton College in Massachusetts until at least 2009.
If you see me, say hello!
